AFAIR: the pax runner profiles should be retrieved automatically from pax runner through maven. But I might be wrong here.
which version of pax runner / pax exam do you use? I suggest upgrading to the latest Pax Exam 2.x

Concerning Pax Exam, I thought it was just for unit tests, I think I'll read the doc in deep :S.
I would like to thank you for these wonderful products it has saved my life for sure.
