An IRC channel on freenode would be great, to get some support on poorly documentet features by people in the know would also be great to reveal which features are poorly documentet.
+1 for an irc channel.
But you sheld also take in count that teh "power" of ops4j is the fact that anyone can (and should) contribute. So, if you see a poorly documented just jump in and edit the wiki
I am not sure a channel is good to have, we have not the manpower to constantly be in there, and there is no good way to log discussions. IMHO the combination of list, direct change and issues works really well. But of course for small, fast stuff there might be a case for IRC. WDYT?
+1 for something that allows irc like group discussion where you "just can jump in when ops4j folks are discussing things". Maybe IRC is the most valuable choice ? Also, its something we do not have to mantain really as its out-of-ops4j-servers.
So, someone with best IRC knowledge (i am probably too young to have used it when i was a kid..) should just create a channel and announce it here.
okay, i am now "tonimenzel" on irc.freenode.net
To get an offical channel for ops4j we need to fill out this form: http://freenode.net/group_registration_form.php
Who can do this (from a legal perspective, after reading at http://freenode.net/group_registration.shtml)
I assume the term "Groups" and "Channels" do have a functional relationship ..
